hey guys i have noticed my gpu has overheated i dont know if this is a bios problem but i was playing bf4 on low and got a HUGE LAGG SPIKE on parcel storm Normal fps no oc os 200lock i was getting 30 fps please help

Idle temps are  49-54 i know the fans dont spin when not in use but is this to high?

Nope. my GPU Idles at 55C. MSI GTX 970.

okj but this doent solve my gpu Throttleing it wsa at 30 fps then 5 the the ffan got loud the got back to normal

Idle temps are meaningless. What load temperatures are you getting?

Well then you both have a prob... My 290x overclocked idles at 39 degrees. My cousins stock reference 290x idles at about 45. And the 290x produces the most heat out of any single gpu's

i get 200fps and bf4 lock it at 200fps thus 200 locked

Why do you play on low with a 980? 

Download MSI Afterburner and check if clocks or memory drop during gaming,

but the Temps rose to 90plus and had to use the Oh shit switch and turn it off than when i rebooted the fan made a Load sound as if it was checking to see if the fan was working and now itss quite

reset evga oc utility and don't use it anymore. Install msi afterburner. Check what temperatures you're getting at full load. If they're too high, make a custom fan curve and raise it to 70% at 80c.

im not sure i watched a video on how to get better aiming a see targets at range and on ultra i dont get 144fps even tho i dont have a 144hz moniter i like to pretend

I didn't say to uninstall it, just reset it to default settings. You can run it every once in a while to see if there's a bios update.

If you have, lets say A BILLION FPS, if you have a 60hz monitor, you will only see 60 fps. That "video" is total BS.

The EVGA gtx 980 sc acx2.0 has a 0db mode so when idling it will not spin the fans hence the higher idle temp

There is no "problem" in maxing at 75C while gaming with an Overclocked card.

There is no "problem" in maxing at 75C while gaming with an Overclocked card. 

SOrry for the3 late Reply but i get 70 Locked Temps even tho i set to 80 so there is room to oc but i cant get past 100 on the clocks and 50 on the mem
