Hey guys just wondering if it's time for a new graphics card?

Right now I'm running:

Intel i5 3570k

Geforce gtx 660

asus p8z77-v lx

i'm thinking of upgrading to a geforce gtx 970.

i don't really have anything else I want to spend money on so It would be great if there was any suggestions for what I should buy to get better performance.

Thanks,

-Keelan

That motherboard doesnt support SLI, But It does support Crossfire, Id recommend you to get the R9 290/x(or wait for the 300 series).

With a motherboard that doesnt support SLI i recommend AMD since the most cost efficient upgrade is close to always the most cost efficient upgrade.

If your motherboard would support SLI i would recommend getting a second 660, But it doesnt.

The R9 290x is about as powerful as the 970. And the 290 is slightly less powerful than the 290x.

If i were you id get the R9 290 if i would upgrade Now.
And wait for the R9 380(Or whatever is equal to the 970) if i would upgrade Later.
