Jump to content

You'll need a 4GB or bigger usb flash drive.

1) Insert flash drive into laptop

2) Format using FAT32 (NTFS will not work)

3) Insert Windows DVD into laptop

4) Explore the DVD

5) Copy all files and folders from DVD

6) Paste all files and folders onto USB

7) Insert USB into PC

8) Boot from it and install as normal

after creating the ISO just use http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool to do the rest of the work.

Pointless and takes hours to finish, just do a straight copy/paste from DVD to USB.

Have never taken more than the same time to copy over files myself. it just does the formatting bit for you.
