but here is the bad news thou

 

the 280X is more of a 1080P GPU

 

any res that is beyond 1080P

 

it will struggle

For a GPU? Then go all out for a GTX 970

A close friend of mine, who has a 280X uses it on a 2560x1080 and maxes out 95% of games on it, while looking totally STUNNING.

He has the same monitor as I, an Asus MX299Q.

$850 -$250 for the graphics card

bump up the budget a bit more for GPU

 

get the 290X and then a 1440P monitor

yes it does and when i only had one 280x i could play over 3 screens all though i had to turn some settings down it was doable so i have know doubt that for that res you will be fine
