Hello LTT, I am working up a plan to build an 8 board cluster computer, and I need 2 bits of help:

The chips I'm planning to use only consume 15 watts each (Celeron J1900, quad core bay trail), is it actually possible to split a single ATX 24 pin connecter to power all these boards? If so, where can I find a good price on these splitters?

Next, I'm very new to this, so what linux distro would you guys reccomend for this?

Yes, it is possible BUT

you may need to do some of the wiring yourself. It's not quite as simple as splitting.

Edit

Actually, a simple split should work, however the systems won't power on independently of each other.

Double check with some research and logic, but this SHOULD do, but I think when you power one on, they all will go on.

So this means they would all power on at same time?

I believe so. My head feels like its about to split right now, so I may be missing something.......yah...I think...if you turn one off itll restart....problem....how did I do this... I wanna say I just don't split PWR_ON (green cable) and wire it to a switch instead for a simple fix. But please have someone else here verify this for you.

You'll probably have to do something a little more complicated if you want them all independent.

I'm actually wanting them all to run in tandem, one button turns on all.
