I always say this. You are always likely to see bad reviews than good, because if the product is bad, they write about, if good they won't bother writing about it because they are enjoying their experience. Pick the cheapest one that supports SLI and call it a day  ;)

Remember a wise man once said, "You'll most likely hear/see more bad reviews from products than good, because if they get a good product, they won't bother to write a review, and if they got a bad product, they'll complain about the product" ~ SoftenButterCream

If you like the look of the rog go for it

Mobo doesnt affect nothing in your pc ( either negative or possitive)

If you like a mobo and has the features that you want go get one :)

I think he is asking because of some RMA crap people write about the MSI

Pretty much every brand out there had a few RMAs and DOA calls. But not all the time. It's highly unlikely you'd get a bad motherboard if you buy from a reputable reseller.

IMHO, pick the MoBo you like best (color scheme? price? features?) and call it a day.

I'd still say Asus ROG are super expensive and not really THAT worth it though. Have you checked the Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5? (if it's an mATX board you want)

I would absolutely say it makes a difference in micro ATX.

I bounced through a lot a micro boards on my last build, a few DOAs (I'm unlucky -_-), some that were missing pretty basic features, and a few that had a lot of problems with overclocking. (A lot of boards became unstable after very modest bumps.... A few others were unable to get my RAM up to 1866...)

I grabbed the ASUS ROG after reading a few favorable reviews and it's been phenomenal. Overclocking has been a breeze, system stability has been great, and the ASUS UEFI is probably the best I've seen on any board.

My only complaint about my board is the GPU layout. My two GeForce 560Ti cards in SLI had only about a quarter inch of clearance between them, so my top card got extremely hot since it couldn't push air effectively. You can get around this with water cooling, but that's another added expense. I don't think any micro board is free of this problem.

So is the board worth the extra investment? Yes if you plan on going the enthusiast route (OC'd CPU, high end RAM, Multiple GPUs)...

If not, I'd say you won't notice much of a difference.
