First off please use PcPartPicker and at this point with ddr3 higher speed isn't going to cost you much more and will get you slightly higher speeds and fps in some games. Also using the stock intel cooler isn't a good choice unless you plan to upgrade to a better one maybe in a few weeks to pretty much any other cooler out there my personal preference for an amazing entry level cooler is the cooler master hyper 212 evo. And that SSD has recently had a part change that drastically reduced the preformence and along with that I highly recommend at least a 2TB hard drive to store AAA titles and all the other stuff that isn't needed on the SSD. Other that that you are doing everything right for a great gaming rig

Hi there. Move along, n0thing to see here.

Hey Will Man Dude, thanks for the reply, the thing is, im going to upgrade the cpu cooler after 1 month, and ive got around 2.5tb laying around that i could grab when needed, what ssd would you recomend for me? (i prefere cheap, as i will only use it for windows and chrome and so on) :)
thanks! ;)

Also the EVGA SuperNova G2 850 watt is 90 dollars at Newegg in the US right now and the G2 is one of the best power supplies on the market right now and at that price I would get one if I needed a new power supply

Yeah, but the reason i chose that PSU is because i want to buy a sleeved cable kit later in the year :)

The Adata SP900 128gb is really good for the price and maybe a Samsung 850 evo 128gb if you feel like spending a little more for not much more preformence

Evga also has a set of sleved cables for cheaper than the corsair version just trying to save you some hard earned cash :)

Yea they will fit all Evga moudular power supplies use the same cable set. I've hear a lot of good about the Evga gtx 980 and the only bad thing is that there were a bunch of people that complained about coil whine at launch but all of that has died down. I don't know much of Galax and their cards except the HOF edition and with that there are more mainstream cards for the same if not better prices. For a 980 I would go with wither an Evga superclocked 980, A Gigabyte wind force/ G1 gaming, or an Asus gtx 980 Strix. I have heard good things about all of those cards

Looks pretty good to me. Although if you're going to do just gaming, an i7 4790K doesn't improve on most games. And on the games that hyperthreading does improve on, it only improves a few FPS, so that's a waste of an extra $100 that could go to like a Corsair H100i to overclock the CPU, or a better SSD with more storage, exc.

I'd go with a i5 4690K

And yes, you can add another 980 no problem on the RM850.

Allright thanks, i've just heard that hyperthreading and the extra cores improved a bit on games, and.. a bit is something? ;)

And another thing guys, how much does boost and core clock matter? (big noob here, well kinda)

Here is what I came up with it about 1925 CAD and that will let you do some ok overclocking and will kill 1080p gaming as well as 1440p gaming. And base and boost clock don't really matter a lot maybe a few fps.

Only helps a bit, but not enough to justify spending an extra $100 when it could go to another part.

One question before I go on, do you NEED a 4790K? Not many things support hyperthreading and that's all you're paying for... I've got an i5 4690K over clocked to 4.5 ghz and it'll trounce a standard 4790k in the benchmarks...

If I were to change anything, I'd get the i5 4690k, a good water cooling loop, overclock it using the AI Suite 3 software ASUS provides with that motherboard (easy peasy to use) and change the SSD for a Samsung Evo 250GB or something like that. You'll have a beast of a PC then :)

Oh and never, ever use that stock cooler on even a stock i7 >_<
