Hey guys!
I'm thinking about moving to a 1440p display soon and i was wondering if you think it would be worth saving for the ROG swift PG278Q
but also i found this BenQ it looks to have ''somewhat'' good specs (obviously not as good as the ROG) the price is nice but i'm not too sure
it's an IPS panel 4ms 27'' the ROG is 1ms and 144hz..the ROG cost twice as much:

or this:

it's very expensive i'll defenetly have to sit and have a talk with my wife about this or else i'll get myself in trouble -_-

I prefer IPS.

I like the color accuracy....response time isn't a big issue for me though.

I also imagine the wife would prefer the cheaper option as well. haha

I wouldn't go for the ROG monitor even if money wasn't an object...i'd rather get two IPS monitors instead. haha

I'd try to get the Swift if you have the extra money.

The thing is i'm now on a 24'' 1080p 60HZ monitor...i find it too small when i play games mostly racing games when i'm behind the wheel i feel i'm too far from the screen for it to be immersive...i'd feel a jump to 27'' i'd like that...at the same time i feel my GPU would defenetly not be enough for 1440p with most games...i like high details in games...so i'm also considering a 1080p 27'' 120HZ monitor...what is your imput on this do you think 24'' vs 27'' makes a noticeable difference and should i stick to 1080p or move to 1440p?

I have the same GPU and am running 1440p with max settings on just about everything I run.

I own about 200 games. Haha

I think the jump from 24" to 27" is noticeable.

27" for me is the sweet spot.

Small enough to feel like a monitor yet not big enough to feel like a TV. haha

*edit:Since I have gone 1440p I don't think I can go back. :)

this is the other monitor i'm looking at...i play mostly FPS and racing games so 120hz is probably worth it for me...also this one is 1ms and 27'' but at 1080p

FPS and racing do have a huge advantage from higher frame rates.

It is quite a noticeable difference.

I am a dirty casual gamer so I prefer graphics over refresh rate.... but if those are your two favorite genres then I definitely think that you will find the 144hz much more favorable than 1440.

I think the BenQ is your best bet. 27 inches....144hz...1ms response....it is definitely an excellent choice.

If I were you, i'd go for that.  :)

EDIT: im playing BF4 right now and it defenetly feel smooter and faster already...i hope i won't break anyhting.

Look for any tearing that you haven't seen before or any part of the monitor looking "staticy" or distorted.

If you notice any of that, scale it back a bit.

I overclocked my monitor a bit in the past but chickened out and came back to 60 fps. I was too paranoid. haha

Best of luck my friend.

Cheers.

Smart move. Better safe than sorry.

Nice. Glad I was able to offer advice.

Enjoy your new monitor and if you feel confident enough, leave a review in the member reviews section of the forum.
