Making a Gaming PC for my lil bro and idk if the minimum power requirements are what i should be following to pick a PSU.

I'm trying to get a GTX 760 or R9 285 ( both same price as of right now)

And they both say minimum power requirement is 500W

The remaining specs for the system are

AMD FX 6300

8 Gigs of memory

1x 1TB HDD

1 of the GPU's above

Wireless card

Asus M5A97

Would a 500 w PSU (The corsair CX500) be able to keep up?

I know the system wont be drawing 500 W while idle but idk about when gaming, 3D games.

Thanks for any help!

500w would be plenty, and I'd take the 285.

Also, if it's just for gaming then, an i5-4440/4460 would be a better choice.
