4GB ram

Need cheap motherboard woth 6+ sata ports 

256GB boot ssd and cache

Need best GB/$ HDDs, looking for 10+ TB

 

 

Im planing to use freenas, any comments about it?

 

This is my budget server... so it will be eventually upgraded but i already have an 8350 for gaming and an i5 machine for other stuff.

Laptop: Thinkpad W520 i7 2720QM 24GB RAM 1920x1080 2x SSDs Main Rig: 4790k 12GB Hyperx Beast Zotac 980ti AMP! Fractal Define S (window) RM850 Noctua NH-D15 EVGA Z97 FTW with 3 1080P 144hz monitors from Asus Secondary: i5 6600K, R9 390 STRIX, 16GB DDR4, Acer Predator 144Hz 1440P

How many users do you have on the NAS at any given time?

What do you want to store on it?

I will use it for time machine and storing movies and prpgram installers, Operating systems etc.

4 users tops.
