Hey, well.. i see people posting about their FX cpu's so i might as well join in =)

Right now im running my 8320 at 4.4Ghz @ 1.3v, temperature gets around 60c with prime with Evo 212X ( Vcore loadline - Extreme ) .. My question is, will it be worthwhile getting a AIO watercooling like the Kraken X61?

I'd really love to reach 5ghz stable on this thing, what do you guys think.. would it be possible considering the temperatures?

I've tried and booted into windows with 5.4ghz but it probably wasn't stable + the temperatures at full load would have been Extreme :D

The ambient temperature seems quite high right now as my hands are a little sweaty, i'd guess 23-25 and the back of the PC is sitting 20 cm away from the heating radiator. ( Don't tell me to get away from it.. it's impossible at this time )

So guys..it would help me alot if i could get some advice, i've been watching benchmarks and stuff about the X60 / X61 and that looks like a great option.

Thanks!

Gigabyte's 970 UD3

That board has a pretty good VRM, so I guess you're solid in that department. But 8320 is a bit of a "value" cpu. Don't really see benefit of spending so much on a cooler for it.

Diminishing returns and all...

The cpu does everything i need, and seems the X61 has a 6 year warranty?! So, if that's true then i find it a really good deal to push this to get more performance out of it to last longer before my next build =)

Well, i got to do some testing now and it seems at 4.7 is stable with 1.35v in the bios, cpuz shows fluctuation between 1.34-1.36. With stock 1.3v i got 4.5ghz stable from first few short tests.

From this point on i'm going to need something better than my 212X Evo, Temperatures would have risen higher for sure, also..what bothers is that in tests the frequency clocks down..but if i remember correctly..when rendering a video in Sony Vegas it was using all cores at full speed, weird.
