Just wondering, are you recording this minecraft footage to upload to YouTube? If you are recording it for fun to share with friends that's cool but if you are starting a minecraft youtube channel, then. Please. Just. No. Just No. Don't even try. There is no point.

he is right there is alredy the main minecraft you tubers and if your a little kid people won't want to watch you trust me they will just watch people like caption sparkles and syndicate if you want to making a gaming channel just live stream on twitch you'll have more success xD

That's what everyone does.... *Cough* *Cough* PewDiePie

Gaming videos are just pointless on youtube now because of many reasons like there are too many vids, channels and there are bigger channels which people will rather watch

I will eventually upgrade it in the future

I don't want to break your dreams but, no one else in the world can get popular on youtube by doing gaming videos because there are big channels like pewdiepie etc already doing "Gaming vids"

My username makes me sound like a hypocrite but I don't upload any videos.

this is what you should do save up to $450 then get the same build as me I can run skyrim on ultra and minecraft at max while recoding with fraps and fraps is the worst to record with becase it uses so much CPU usage

Tell your friend to stop wasting precious seconds of his/her's life, they will regret it later

If you are recording you'll want at least 3 cores, also, you need a dedicated graphics card, a GTX 650 will be good enough (and go with AMD and a cheaper motherboard if it gets too expensive with the graphics card)

What would you recommend for a and build

It depends, what size are you planning on making your build? Smallest (mini-ITX), medium (microATX) or large(ATX) (there are bigger sizes available if you really want but I wouldn't recommend it).

Keep in mind that the smaller the computer is the less things you can add in future, also it is nice to have a small motherboard in a large case because it means that making your computer will be a little bit easier.
