>So I was in my computer class today and I had nothing to do so I started doing research into how to upgrade a laptops GPU. It came up that the easiest way was an external alternative. People have said that its possible to run Desktop graphics cards on laptops.

>This brought me to my second thought. My friend has a Raspberry Pi that he uses just to mess around on. I started wondering if I could use a desktop graphics card I had laying around on it.

>I am thinking of using the GPIO or the USB 2.0 to connect to a PCIe mini slot.

>Then use that PCIe mini slot to connect one of those desktop GPU to laptop adapters ( http://www.banggood.com/EXP-GDC-Laptop-External-PCI-E-Graphics-Card-p-934367.html ) to like a GPU to that.

>This is absolutely ridiculous. I doubt anyone has tried this but would it be possible? Im willing to drop the 50$ on the adapter because I would probably end up using it in my actual laptop and the 15ish for the GPIO to PCIe mini is a trivial amount of money compared to the GPU and the laptop I have.

>So in the end IS THIS POSSIBLE?????????????????

probably possible; ridiculously stupid use of money.  Would be a cool project though
