For 30-40$, tbh you aren't going to get MUCH better than integrated audio. I am guessing you are looking for something to buy to replace/upgrade the audio that comes out of your motherboard/case.

My minimum recommendation for amp is always Fiio E10K or Schiit Fulla, with monoprice AMP / DAC as a very good investment for slightly more money.

 

Remember that amp / dac isn't supposed to make your headphone perform 150%, it's suppose to make the headphones works at its 100% potential (with exception to tube amps or other solid state that color the sound)

 

Say if you have a macbook and M50X, it's more likely the mac can drive the M50X to very loud level and you don't need amp / dac at all. Macbook's amp / dac is perfectly fine, infact it's better than many cheapo amp/dac solution, with power being the exception
