Posted January 13, 2015 Hello guys, im getting this gaming/workbench build: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State DriveStorage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard DriveVideo Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Black WindowPower Supply: SeaSonic 750W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power SupplyKeyboard: Tt eSports Poseidon Z Blue switch Illuminated keyboardMouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse Headphones: HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset and i was wondering..... do i need the thermal paste? does it come with the cpu or the cpu cooler? i think the h100i has it pre-installing, do i need more? do i need to clean the cpu top with alcohol or whatever? Posted January 13, 2015 The thermal paste is pre-applied to the H100i. You do not need more than what is provided, and no, you don't need to clean off the CPU when installing the cooler. I just looked for something better online, but I never realised that tech gear is so expensive in the US/CA. Then I think you should trust Linus and get the Cloud (or Steelseries 5HV3, I had the V2, it's really good). Here you can find them for around 100. If your budget would allow it, I'd recommend the HD 558's from Sennheiser. Might be far too expensive, though. But I have no idea if they are.
