I know this may sound silly But could you check your internal hardware? check if the cables are plugged in correctly? their may be something loose. I don't really know what 6 beeps mean but Try to check if your ram is placed correctly

sounds like a broken Super I/O Controller chip, does a ps2 keyboard work in the pc?
if not you might have to live with the beeping for the rest of life of the pc or unplug the motherboard speaker if you think the beeping is annoying

Instead of buying a new keyboard, have you tried using a USB to PS/2 adapter? You can usually get one for less than a £/$. Although if the Super I/O chip is damaged like BananaNinja suggests then it may still give the error code, but it's worth a shot.
And also, does the keyboard actually still work? And can you get into the BIOS with it? If so then that sounds more like a configuration error than a problem with hardware.
