So today my water cooler decided to I think die. I Dont know what brand water cooler it is since it came with the pc pre build 2 years ago, it looks the same as the corsair H55 only without the corsair logo. For 2 years everything worked fine but the last few months the pump got louder and today the temps of my 3930k started to go to 90 degrees celsius while starting up.

Here is what I notice

The water cooler does make sound, almost like gurgling water

One tube gets very hot the other stays cold

The radiator stays cold

The heatsink/pump part on the cpu gets really hot

several times I tried reinstalling the cooler with a fresh dab of thermal paste, but the temp just skyrockets to 90 degrees celsius.

Anyone knows of a fix/tip? And if all hope is gone can anyone recommend a good air cooler for a 3930k?

Thanks in advance

contact the pre-builder to find out what recourse there is on the cooler as it is broken.

sounds like it is a Asetek unit for system builders. usually a 3-5 year on those types.

mean time, an inexpensive air cooler like the 212 from coolermaster to get you by

for now.
