Hi guys i am currently facing a dilemma between the Acer xb280hk or the dell U2713HM

Im intend to get a second gtx 970 in the near future. My only concern is whether dual 970 will be able to run 4k res smoothly. Appreciate all advices

there are some 1440p 144hz IPS monitors coming out that might interest you! personally I think thats the best of all 3 worlds (4 if you count gsync/freesync)

Any idea on the release dates?

no they were just announced at CES, a few weeks/months maybe

Im still not a massive fan of 4k on the desktop, windows scaling still has massive issues, and while SLI 970s will play games in 4k just fine, you wont be able to run everything maxed out and get a consistant 60fps with no drops

there are some gysnc/freesync 4k monitors coming out which can help with that too

though still, I do prefer 1440p, its really damn sharp, from a normal viewing distance its hard to see pixels unlike 1080p

how could 2 780's do running 1440p or 4k?

more or less the same as 2 970s,  The only problem I see with 780s is the fact that they only have 3gb of vram. They are nough for most games even at 4k, but there are some exceptions (namely wolfenstein TNO which relies almost 100% on vram).

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
