Quick question for my fellow Silverstone TJ07 users. What's your current setup for cooling, what parts are you running and what temps do you get on full load?

I've noticed since I've added my second 780 if I play something demanding for 2 hours+ my case is too hot to touch. I've thought about fabricating some fan mounts for the front but then I have no where to stick my hard drives.

If anyone with a TJ07 could drop some pictures of what their's looks like I would appreciate it!

Hi,

I also have a TJ07 fully water cooled with a i5 3570k and a single GTX780. I only have a 480mm rad at the moment with some very low rpm AP121 fans from Silverstone. My air cooling in the main compartment of the case is pretty abysmal with only three intake fans in the roof of the case ( no 92mm fans in the back since its an inverted-ATX case). Even with this far from optimal setup I've never noticed the case getting too hot to touch or any of the componets having high temps.

I have also thought about getting something for the front of my TJ07 to get better air flow in the case but there aren't many options. I've tried to find some perforated 5.25" bay covers like the ones Linus has on his personal rig but it's always a bit uncertain if they fit. I've also looked at buying some after market TJ07 parts from coldzero (http://www.coldzero.eu/, I think they are based in Portugal).

I could get some temps later today or perhaps tomorrow if it would be of any help. I could also take some pictures tomorrow when it's a bit lighter outside ( damn HTC one camera with that pink/purple issue).

I looked at these a while back http://ebay.eu/1DAzUsG when I wanted to buy them they were out of stock. I'm going to buy some and stick some 120mm fans in the front.

I too only have a single 480mm rad in the bottom. I tried putting my 240mm rad in the front, but due to not having any airflow from the front was pretty pointless. I've had a look at trying to get a thin 240mm in the roof. But couldn't find one thin enough that wouldn't touch my motherboard.

Also Inverted ATX, do you buy your case this way or switch it after you bought it? I've kinda wanted to flip it round. Think it would give it a much cleaner look.

i am thinking about buying an tj07....

It is a lovely case don't get me wrong. But I honestly think it's showing it's age. Especially when mine's a REV 1 without any cable management on the back of the motherboard tray, or a CPU cutout.

But I still think it's one the beast looking cases without all the guts looking a little lost. And the fact that you can fit a 480mm rad in the bottom out of view is awesome.

That's actually the ones I've also been looking at, Would be very nice to hear how they fit if you choose to get them.

I bought the inverted-ATX motherboard tray from the store I linked earlier but had to do a lot of things myself, like cutting out a new window. I also got a lightbox in the bottom of mine with custom cutouts which give very clean and short tubing runs to the bottom compartment.

I'll buy some and let you know. After a quick google a few people on overclockers forum seem to have used them easily with no issues.

And I would love to see some pictures of your build.

just had a look on coldzero and everything that takes my fancy is out of stock, just my luck.

I have to agree with this. It's not hard to fall in love with the TJ07 while looking at some nice builds with it, but there's one thing you have to understand. The TJ07 isn't like most modern cases in which you just throw in your components and you're done, you really have to put in some considerable time and elbow grease with the TJ07 if you want a good looking result. It also lacks many of the conveniences newer cases have ( fan hubs, lighting, quick install thingys and so on) but I don't mind putting in a bit more thought and time to get a cleaner result.

Wait, doesn't Linus have a REV 1 TJ07? Isn't there a ton of room back there? Maybe its time to break out the trusty ol'dremmel.

My cable management isn't too bad for saying my case has zero cuts. And having the AX1200i helps a lot with that! There's enough room to get a full size 3.5" HDD behind the mobo tray. Only reason I moved them was for temp reasons.

yeah i agree upon that its a little old for the time but those looks... in fact even linus's personal build is in a tj07

Seeing Linus start his personal upgrade made me buy one. I haven't even thought about swapping out my case since then. And that was around 3 years ago I think?

Okay so I've just bought two "packs" of these http://ebay.eu/14QDi3W Hopefully they'll fit without any headaches. When they arrive I'll take a look at what to do with my cooling.

Thinking throw a decent 240mm rad in the front with some fans in pull so it can get some air into my case a little better.

This. I love Silverstone cases, they take a bit more work.

I did not get a tj07 due to money/size/work load, but I love my ft05. Not as much work as tj07, but it's no corsair case.

It's just lovely.

I like the tj11 better, seems to have more features/air flow

I also like the TJ11, but I've always thought it was too big. Seeing in in videos made it look huge!

So the 5.25" bay covers came today, I haven't got time tonight to try to fit them. But I managed to take some pictures of them and grabbed an original one that I don't have installed. It looks like they will fit, but I may need to drill them so they line up nicely. Don't know until i fit them. Here's some pictures of them.

They look pretty nice and drilling new holes in them isn't that hard if they otherwise fit well.

I'm thinking about either getting these and having better overall airflow or getting a back cover for the 5.25" bays and having a slightly cleaner build. I don't know if I really need the extra airflow since I'm probably not going for SLI in the foreseeable future.

Sounds good, I'm going to strip my build down tomorrow and move some stuff around .I'll be putting them in at the same time. I'll keep you posted at how well it goes.
