I can't scroll down?

Hey everyone

 

Just got on my PC this afternoon and I go to webpages and I cannot scroll down using my mouse's scroll wheel. I then try on Steam and elsewhere, and same again, cannot scroll down. It makes a kind of stuttering motion going down ever so slightly, then goes back to the top again. It's really annoying.

 

Can I fix this somehow? Restarting my PC did not work.

I don't quite understand. Your mouse has no problem going up, but stutters when going down? am I right?

No spare mouse, sadly.

 

To move down a page I need to use the bar at the side of the screen and click-and-drag. I cannot scroll upward either once I have gotten down a page.

okay, seems like your scroll wheel is broken, usually it's a misalignment or the damn thing is starting to fall off so you need a new mice anyways..

 

Until then here's a tiny trick , don't know if it will help you  out & depends on your mice , Start with a middle click on the mice or click down the scroll button while keeping the mice pointer dead at the cente of the page (or somewhere you can leave a free handle) usually a virtual scroll dialogue appears & you can move your mice pointer up or down from that handle for the page to scroll, try it & tell me if it works for you..^& middle click again to discard the handle

Yes, that's still working fine. I've been eyeing up a Logitech g602 anyway so now I've got a good excuse to buy one

No, it's just a microsoft wireless mouse.

 

It kinda fixed itself, but got worse again, and is to and from. It's also a little jumpy around the screen, but it'll need to serve for another couple of weeks I think. Oh well.
