I've got the Creative Gigaworks T40 2.0 system and love it!  Honestly I wouldn't get anything with a base if your in a dorm/duplex/apartment/near others lol...just get headphones.  If you've got your own house or flat then yeah, the T3 is good for the money.

Nope, never had the chance to audition them, though it does look good, and being THX certified means they are capable of pretty good lows.....great for gaming and movies. I've tried the Corsair SP2500, pretty good, solid bass and pretty decent mids.....decent soundstage. I'd gotten my Klipsch PM2.1 well before auditioning the SP2500 with a friend, If the SP2500 were available at the time I was about to get the PM2.1, it would have made my choice a little tougher. Overall, I like the PM2.1 because it has separate mid range drivers and tweeters. Much better for music, don't get me wrong, music on my Z-5500 is good, but the mids and highs do sound muddled but I find music on them to be enjoyable nonetheless, but simply not as enjoyable as with the PM2.1.

But I do suggest that you give the various speakers a listen before deciding....if not, just go for the one that you think you'd like and which suits your budget. Go give a listen to the Logitech - Z623 2.1 if possible, and from the reviews I've read, it does look to be a pretty good set of desktop 2.1.

Why not? I run my Z-5500 off my Asus R4E in sig, my 2nd rig with an Asus CVF has SB MB2 support, and I run my PM2.1 off that. Use onboard audio first, upgrade to discrete soundcard only IF onboard does not suit your audio needs. Newer mobos come with pretty decent onboard audio.....

No problemo, audition the speakers first before deciding......I'm curious as to what you think of those speakers. I've heard very good things about the SP2500, the Klipsch PM2.1 has been around for ages, but there's a reason why it has stood the test of time.

I can vouch for the Klipsch.  Only cost me $128.00, best deal on sound ever!  Even with the bass turned all the way down it's like wow.  The Corsair is great too.  More money but I'm not so sure that $80.00 more justifies the cost after having the Klipsch for such a cheap cost.

They sounded good also..Kinda hard to tell in a loud best buy..But when i put the Sp2500s at full sub and full volume and there was no distortion i was sold..Playing BF3 in FPS mode is amazing also..The clack sound of reloading and the crack of shooting is great..The highs and mids are great for music IMO..

These speakers when set on either side of my monitor make the voices seem like they are coming from in between the two speakers like i have a center channel..You should definitely hear them in person..I know i am not a Audiophile but they sound great..
