arma 3 framerate issues

Go to solution Solved by SeanBond,

My gtx 770 can only pull 20fps on multiplayer (on a nearby server) and is there anyway to get better fps. (all settings are on high not ultra and processor is a 7700k and it is not bottlenecking it).

It's the cpu, the cpu utilization is awful. It only uses 1 core. As far as the gpu, the game requires a potato to max out the graphics. I can run it around 50fps at 8k with a single 780ti.

As much as im trying not to be rude, Its Arma 3, Take what you can get...

But the way to work it, do a bit of research, But what I have found with the graphics is:

The lower the setting, The more cpu intensive it gets

The higher the setting , The more GPU intensive it gets.

No, its as you said arma 3 is terribly optimized and very CPU intensive, his CPU is bottlenecking.

Fairly sure that is not how it works at all. maxing out the setting might make it use the gpu more, but it's not going to make it use the cpu less. If anything it too will make the cpu have to do more work.

Im no PC expert/ gaming expert in anyway. But it seemed to have done the trick with my pc (a q6600 and a 6850), I was getting terrible FPS in Arma 3 low graphics, Changed a few settings to medium to high and getting playable fps. But like I said, I aint no expert in anyway.
