Im planing on a ~1200 dollar build including things such as 970, i5 5690k

then that would only be the H440, as the S340 can handle the x99 platform, but

most want to use an AIO to cool the overclock and the S340 just isn't up to par

for that. it can be done, but won't be healthy.

best is to get your main items lined out and then consider the bling accessories.

Not sure how it wouldn't be healthy? A 240/280mm aio should be fine x99.

The s340 doesn't have ample room for an expansive custom loop but that's probably not happening with $1200.

case airflow for the GPU will be tormented as the 240/280 AIO installed in the front intake

so with all that preheated air and the GPU just won't like it too much. not healthy.

I was thinking the s340's closer mounted and less restricted fans would make up for the warmer air with better airflow.

As above ^^

Depends on budget more or less although I prefer the s340

h440 if you have the money

s340 if you don't

What are you planning on doing?
