Wassup guys and gals, I'm building a new gaming PC soon and I'm looking for opinions/suggestions

This is going to be a gaming computer only, I don't do much on my PC other than gaming and browsing the web.

The games i'm looking to run are things like Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Bad Company 2, and source games. Nothing too demanding; I probably won't be playing anything like Crysis or Battlefield 3 and 4

I was originally going to build a Haswell/700 series rig but now my budget is tighter and am now looking more toward a value oriented machine.

My current specs:

Athlon II X4 at stock (3.0ghz)

GTX 260

and 4gb DDR3 RAM

This machine is capable of running most of the games that I listed at medium to low settings, but the performance is starting to show and I want something more powerful to replace it so I can use my current PC as a personal server or router computer or something.

After reading this article: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6985/choosing-a-gaming-cpu-at-1440p-adding-in-haswell-/9 I've been looking into the A8-5600k with a 700 series card like a 760 but I'm not sure if I can even use that card with it and I'm wondering if it's worth adding a card to an APU or if I am, go AMD for crossfire hybrid. Am I better off getting an FX cpu like a 4300 or 4350?

I've theory built Haswell/700 series rigs before with all of the things i need that came out to around 1600$ (With Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor)

So my budget for this value computer should be lower than that, maybe somewhere around 800$ (Without Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor) 1200$ with them, 1000$ would be great but thats a bit tight. Also I should mention that this will be going in a 350D. I don't have cable routing experience so i'm not sure if I should go ahead and spend extra money for a semi modular or modular PSU since it is Micro ATX

Post your suggestions/opinions and questions. Thanks!

Here's what you could do: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/19ivt

The keyboard/mouse are just recommendations along with every other part. This is just what I use (and they are awesome)

The psu is modular and was really cheap.

Then you could just bump up to a 7950 and you're good: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-1003523l

I believe this one is perfect for your budget, the psu is Semi-Modular, the GTX 770 is from MSI Gaming Edition.

Oh weird, when I first looked at your list the 4670k and the GPU said they were from microcenter with instore pickup but now it says newegg

this website takes the lowest price between those online stores, they add discounts and promotions, promotions are just for a certain time, when they end the website also updates this information.

At least still inside your budget  :)
