As stated on my title, i am looking to build a PC and hope you guys can help me choose parts.

part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/sebastien_calvignac/saved/9yVCmG

The use of the PC will mainly be gaming. I will be running atleats 1 4k monitor possibly 2 which is why i want atleast 4GB of VRAM. As for the peripherals (keyboard, mice etc) i already have my own but if you feel like they are very good then go ahead im happy to hear about it and consider them. The reason i am buying a rig is because my current 2014 pc book pro isnt cutting it for gaming and i would like to have a windows machine for compability. As for the location it is UAE but dont worry about that. Finally for the budget i will simply say i do not have money to throw out the window but i am willing to pay extra for extra performance, future proofness and reliability.

NOTE: I still haven't decided if i am going to overclock my CPU and hope you guys can give me an idea on the risks / rewards involved, and i was also looking at the 4790k or the 4690x so let me know . I would rather not have it watercooled (personal preference) + i have seen some good reviews on that NH-D15 cpu cooler but i am open to suggestions.

EDIT: yes SLI is defenetly good for gaming but i would rather start off with 1 980 and if i still need more performance ill add another one.

Builds like these just make me cry.

In the case of gaming you can get similar performance, by going with a hex core (ex: 5930k). You save money that you can then invest in a second gpu.

SLI'ing your 980 will give you better fps at 4k then a single 980 with a 5960x will.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gQZB7P This is in USD. Don't know about pricing in AUD

+What's up with the single 16 gb stick at 340 dollar?

and that one guy who has the hand getting a paper cut and then splitting *shudder*

To OP, if you're just going to game, that thing is overkill. A 4790k or 5820k  would be nicer.. and then you have more money to spend elsewhere

I havent tried 4k, but you might want more than 4GB VRAM for 4k.  You might be Ok though, I guess it just depends what games you play.

I agree the processor is overkill.  get the 5930k and go SLI GTX 980.

Also, from what I understand, there isn't a lot of benefit to going with the intel 5000 series CPUs for gaming right now.  an i7 4790k or even i5 4690k will be more than adequate and save you hundreds of dollars with plenty of headroom for overclocking.

You will be fine with 4GB Vram for 4K. A single GTX 980 won't cut it though. You will need 2 x 980 or 2 x 970 for decent framerates.

While I agree, and this seems to be a general consensus on the LTT forums, its worth pointing out that we are mainly talking about AAA titles.  for more mainstream gaming, even a single GTX 970 will do just fine at 4k.  Linus recently did a vid showing a low budget 4k build works just fine for less demanding games like (such as TF2 ) based on older game engines.

just thought I'd point that out, to be annoyingly precise.

Try playing Crysis 3, BF4, Metro last light with a single GTX 970 or 980. If the op wants to be able to play a wide range of games then He will need dual cards.

Agreed.

I'll also just point out that 4k scales down to 1080p beautifully, so if ever you notice poor performance at 4k, just scale it down and it will still look great.  No interpolation is needed when going from 4k down to 1080p, thus preserving image quality.

The only reason I bring that up is because he might not want an SLI setup (which can be buggy and does not have universal support in games).  A single 980 will do OK at 4k for many games, and if scaled down to 1080p it will do even Crysis 3 maxed out with 60fps.
