There nothing right now that uses the same low power version of Haswell chips other than the Macbook Air (mid 2013)

<edit> i stand corrected the Sony VAIO Pro 13 and Sony VAIO Duo 13 also give around ~10 hour battery with the new chips if you want to go that route </edit>

If you like Apple's design and OS, I think the Macbook Air is a decent choice. I did some searching for other Ultrabooks, such as the Aspire S7, but I couldn't really find anything that was all that supremely better than the Air, and many of them are actually more expensive than it as well.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

i got the vaio pro a look but it is more or les the same as the air given the point that osx is optimized only for a certan hardware, and it is a bit more expensive so i'l go with a base model air 13".

Thanx for your help guys :)

One thing to keep in mind is the Vaio Pro has a 1080p touchscreen.. the Air not so much

OS X has much better power management.

I bought an 11" Macbook Air in April. Got a GREAT deal (brand new, i5, 8GB, 512GB SSD - Samsung 830) for 990€ (vs 1699€ on the Apple Online Store) and I love it. Only thing bothering me is battery life, which should be solved with haswell.

I would go for the air. Apple have the best looking laptops out right now I would say. Thats why I went and got a macbook pro and if you need windows it's very easy to install it using bootcamp and have dual boot options or use parallels to run windows in a virtual machine. I like having the option of both operating systems also.

Hello, I just got my Air 2013 about a week ago after selling my MPB.
You surely can't go wrong with Apple products, they offer some neat quality and performance.
The battery is outstanding, It stays about 20min on battery still saying 100% full.
Finally, the Haswell chip combined with it's 5000HD Graphics enables to gain the speed and power of MBPs.
I got my Air for 1000$, which might seem pricey but I assure it's worth every buck. Apple products can be easily

sold in addition to that, youll have the possibility of upgrading it in a few years if you choose to.
