Hey lads, so a while back i decided i wanted to build a designated gaming rig for my room! i live in australia so it gets a bit hot here in the summer just keep in mind. the rig is pretty much for Arma 2 OA and Arma 3, CS:GO, World of Tanks and Far Cry 3, i would like a bit of room to upgrade should i choose to get more serious but for now thats all thats played. i didnt spend a huge amount of detail looking into gear but i just chose what seemed legit and had decent reviews. any advice at all would be awesome, cheers. This is all chucked into an Antec P280, but im just a bit worried as its fan configurations are more for negative pressure :/

looks fine...but i do hope you're not actually using WIFI...

personally i would have gone for a noctua nh-d14 instead of the hydro...its cheaper and has better temps, the only hydro to beat the noctua is the H100 afaik

unfortunately with the noctua that ram wont fit...but theres cheaper and more low profile options avaliable...and I wouldn't buy a 2X4 kit...it limits upgradability, if you wanted to go above 16gb you would need to totally replace that which costs more $$$...i would have gone with a 1x8.

also i would wait until the 960...its coming VERY soon, rumors say in a couple weeks...

other than that it looks like a nice build that will last a fair bit :)

pc specs: 4 function calculator / 8 digit lcd display / colored numeric and function buttons

Why is wifi such a bad choice? i have no direct lines to my room unfortunately so there's no other option. as for the heat sink, i dont know why but i've always preferred the Self contained liquid coolers over the air heat sinks. i dont really see a need to go above 16gb in my situation but i will consider it actually haha, but thanks heaps for the opinion man really appreciate it. im a little worried about the pressure of the case though, theres a rear mount where im mounting the rad, 2 top, 2 front and 2 internal but they dont add any real benefits, so im not sure how to run exhaust-intake ratio of fans

wifi just seems so unreliable and slow to me compared to wired ethernet...

i've always prefered air coolers because of how little points of faliure there are and how low risk they are...the only thing that could die on it is the fan and from what i've heard noctua has brilliant customer service, you have to snap a blade off of the dead fan and send them a picture and they will send you a replacement! on the closed loop side you could have the pump die, the fan die, a possible leak and then your components are ruined (although rare it's happened!

heres one of an early Coolermaster). i've also found the D14 to be slightly quieter than the hydro's because of the pump noise

personally i would remove the top fans, and just have the front intakes and then the rear exhausts, thats what i run and it seems to work pretty well. i also have a side fan sucking air out and a bottom fan blowing air up in the case.

Yeah unfortunately wifi is my only option :(, I will look into air coolers though theres some decent reviews out. Only thing is, if you look up the antec p280, the mounting positions for the front fans are really odd. I might just end up dealing with the negative pressure just to get that little extra cooling.
