Hola peeps

I'm about to do my drivers licence for motorbike with unlimited power/engine volume

and i just saw some video about CBT (those from UK will know what it is), correct me if i'm wrong, but that's basically a test to get certified to drive 125cc or less bikes and it's a 1 day "test" that you can't really fail, unless you're completely incapable to ride a bike.

my question is, how it is in your country, is it hard/expensive to get it?

for me

i gotta go to drivers school for a week, pass a theory exam, that so far, there are only 2 in 10 ppl on average passing it

and after that i can sit on the bike and drive for at least 20 hours, before i can take my driving exam

all together it'll cost me around 2.000€, if i make it in 20 hours of driving

the teacher decides when you're ready for driving exam, so it can be over 20 hours if you're not good enough

it sickens me that even tho i got my car drivers license for 7 years already, i still need to go back to school and pass the theory exam, which is utter BS, out of 3.000 available questions, you get 40 and you must get at least 37 right

and the questions are as stupid as they get, that's why there is only 2 in 10 ppl passing it

does anyone else have such hard times getting it?

it would make me happy!

yeah, i enjoy in others pain

In my country it's complicated. You have to get a limited category first at 18 and then drive around for two years and then get unlimited or you have to wait for 24 years old and then get full license. To get the license it's not that hard, you need less hours than driving a car and the same theory.

yeah, i forgot to add that as well

it's the same here, limited till 24, or limited under 18 and then unlimited, but the cost doesn't change no matter what

The thing that is stopping me from getting it is the 300$ safe driving course. (I have zero cash to spare..)

And that they moved the age limit for the unlimited license to 24..

I competed in motocross and enduro when i was younger. So i know to handle a bike.

And i want to get a CB750 as a first bike. (Yes it's a big engined bike. but it's more of a relaxed cruising bike)

Hopefully i'll be able to get it this year. And restrict a CB to a lower hp output.

I really don't get the law on riding bikes in the U.K. I would like to see a bike license requiring a more scrutinous exam. Bikes are so much more dangerous than cars and yet the test is so much easier. I really didn't find my theory test hard at all. Pretty much the whole thing is common knowledge.

one other thing that's bothering me is, you gotta complete first aid test and full physical before even going to drivers school, but now, only physical is required, i don't need to complete the first aid again, which imo, would be of the same, if not greater importance than theory (which i already made and "used" it almost every day for the past 7 years), when driving on a road

and they changed the tests, when i first did it, the questions were more common sense and pictures of situations in traffic

now you get some dumbass questions with multiple answers BS

bike is mostly only dangerous to the person riding it so. if you are stupid you die, with cars you can kill people too.

That's my point, younger people are far more likely to ride stupidly. Having a crash in a car is much safer than having a crash on a bike.

but like i said car can kill orthers, bike just a rider. so it's safer for orthers. also it's generally regarded that bikers will have car license first.

Not necessarily a bike could easily go through a windscreen or the rider could crash into a sidewalk. A lot of car and bike crashes only involve the one vehicle. I would much rather be in a car than on a bike.

yes, bike is more dangerous. there isn't much more they can teach you though, all they need is to know that you know the very basics. they don't teach you much about how to drive a car either...

It's more about the rules of the road and road safety really. On average in the UK people have 10-20 lessons for a car before making their test. Learning all the rules and getting used to the controls. I don't see why it should be any different for a bike.
