What extra vertical slot?

Hello i was wondering how you would utilize the vertical slot on the the haf 945? i assume its for extra usb slots of something, but on the case box it says its for improved stability...??? How?

 

its for a fan controller that coolermaster supply with there V8 and V10 cpu coolers :D I have a stacker if you have any questions.
