hey all, i'm new to this foru, and i have a little problem.

I have a HP Pavillion g7 gaming laptop and i have it for like 2/3 years now..

The problem is, It keeps overheating like crazy..

I replaced the stock fan with another cpu stock fan from HP, but it still heats up to 80/90 celsius..

I also clean the fan every month, so i don't know what do do anymore..

Could you guys give me some advice? i want to be gaming normally on this laptop

Why do i have to wash it in water?

no the heatsink will rust

use alcohol and cotton balls you buy from the drug store

use them to clean the heatsink of thermal paste

okay and then i have to use new thermal paste?

What do you guys think is the problem?

do what i just say

clean your heatsink of the old thermal paste

apply new thermal paste

and install back the heatsink

monitor temps and see if there is any improvement

HP laptops have poor cooling to begin with

Why do i have to wash it in water?

i didnt mean to wash the whole thing with water, just the fins if u couldn't clean them easily with compressed air, but if u managed to clean it with compressed air then thats fine, and ya use alcohol to remove the old thermal paste.

note: dont use too much thermal paste when u are reapplying.
