Can't boot from USB.

Hopefully this is in the right section. So yesterday I finally got my cpu, put it in and started it up. Everything ran fine. Now im stuck in this knot. Im trying to boot from usb but every time i reset i either get the bios screen or a flashing white line.

Im currently running

asus maxims hero vii

i7 4790k

geforce gtx 760

8 gb ddr3 corsair vengeance

750w power supply 

2tb hdd

120gb ssd

 

anyone know what i can do ?

i have set it so it does read the usb first, i'll try the ufei memory stick though... 

 

External boot devices maybe disabled in your bios. Check that too.

Might be a stick-related problem.  Some sticks simply don't want to be bootable. 

 

Whenever I turn an Emtec stick into a pendrive, my laptop doesn't even want to go into the boot device selection menu.  Do the same procedure on one of my PNY sticks and it just works. 

No idea why this happens, the tool that puts the Linux on the stick also takes care of the bootable flags etc, so I see no reason why it's even possible.   I eventually decided to blame it on Obama
