I have a Windows Server 2008R2 installation inside a ProxMox virtual host. It is able to access local network resources, but no internet resources.

Other machines on the same virtual host work just fine, so im thinking its a problem with windows.

It worked just fine for months, but last night i started getting calls from clients who use my email server. They said they got messages saying that messages they were sending couldnt be delivered because the server couldnt find the recipiants domain.

I ran a traceroute on a linux box (same host and network adapter):

traceroute to 4.2.2.2 (4.2.2.2), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 192.168.0.1 (192.168.0.1) 0.644 ms 1.004 ms 1.336 ms 2 CPE-75-87-248-1.natsoe.res.rr.com (75.87.248.1) 25.448 ms 26.252 ms 26.332 ms 3 tge7-1.mscwidbw01h.natnow.rr.com (65.28.215.17) 18.899 ms 19.714 ms 19.651 ms 4 tge2-1.plmnwaen01r.natnow.rr.com (72.129.43.40) 19.789 ms 19.689 ms 23.171 ms 5 tge0-4-0-0.sttlwawb01r.natnow.rr.com (72.129.43.100) 40.167 ms 40.994 ms 40.899 ms 6 107.14.19.112 (107.14.19.112) 35.769 ms 33.571 ms 33.526 ms 7 ae-0-0.pr0.sea20.tbone.rr.com (66.109.6.145) 30.535 ms 27.107 ms 28.148 ms 8 te-4-3.car4.Seattle1.Level3.net (4.71.156.109) 77.580 ms 78.454 ms 78.438 ms 9 ae-2-70.edge1.SanJose1.Level3.net (4.69.152.78) 51.166 ms 52.949 ms *10 b.resolvers.Level3.net (4.2.2.2) 72.898 ms 56.133 ms *

Windows says it can connect to the internet, and there are no problems. Diagnostics say it can connect just fine, but errors out when trying to do windows update or get new help content.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this would suddenly stop working?

Thanks,

~Judah

P.S.

Yes, i did turn it off and back on again
