How To Improve Cooling?

Go to solution Solved by Peter Vaughan Truslow,

that motherboard will give you a space between your two GPUs which will help with your temps

Hey guys, I've recently bought 2x970's from MSi to run in SLI, and I was wondering how I could improve my cooling.

I'm about to buy a Noctua NH-D15 to replace my stock CPU cooler and for the rest of my cooling, the case I'm using is the NZXT H440 Mid Tower, I've got 3 intake fans that are 120 mm (stock) at the front of the case, 2 140's at the top and a single fan at the rear (All of these are White LED's from NZXT).

Do I even need to upgrade the cooling for the SLI? If so how would I go about doing it without blowing the budget?

either send me a link to your card or take a look at it. if it looks like 1-3 case fans with an weird shroud, it's an open fan. if it looks like a hampster wheel, it's a blower

It'll probably be fine in practice. But just for accuracy, this is an open fan cooler. The 970 isn't too bad, but hotter cards in SLI/Crossfire (like the GTX 480/580 or R9 290X) would definitely want ventilation close to them, either with a front or side panel fan.

In that case(pun intended) you could just run as is. You should be fine what motherboard and CPU are you using?

No OC as of yet, may do it in the future.
