I'd remove them, as they aren't red. Painting a sticker sounds, ehhh...

CrossFire will sync the GPU speeds to the lowest speed cards

 

in this case the 290 is the slowest card

 

295x2 is dual 290Xs inside

This is actually a review of the R9 295X2, but obviously they benchmarked it alongside Crossfire'd 290X's so that data is there as well. They perform well in games with good Crossfire support.

Edit: Nevermind, we're talking about the 290 here, not 290X. Link above won't mean anything, but Crossfire scaling should be similar for the 290.
