i recently built my new pc (windows 8.1)

but now my mic doesnt work anymore i tried everything but nothing works

pls ghelp

What mic is it?

Just typed this into another post a minute ago although this is for Windows 7 I would say 8.1 was similar, though you could try control panel if you cannot find it.

 

If you right click on your speaker icon in your taskbar there should be a menu item called Recording Devices where you can set the default device. You may find that your mic is no longer the default so can change it by right clicking on the relevant mic.
