.NET Framework 3.5 Not Installing

Hello,

While trying to installing Age Of Empires 2 HD version, Windows asked me to install the .Net 3.5 Framework. Once I pressed: Download and Install this version it started doing the search procedure and stuff like that but when it finishes it says:

The following feature couldn't be installed:

.NET Framework 3.5 (Includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)

Windows couldn't connect to the Internet to download necessary files. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, and click "Retry" to try again.

Error code: 0x800F0906

I searched the error code. I tried to fix it by mounting my .ISO file to a virtual drive using UltraISO and running the command: "Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:x:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess" In the Administrator Command Prompt but it keeps failing.

I also edited some settings in the Group Settings. But it still not working.

Thanks for the fast response but it didn't work. It gave me the same error even after trying to install the installer that windows gives, but it didn't work.

 

Any other solutions?

since netframework 4.5 or something higher is currently available...( with security patches and updates ) .......... maybe a trip to windows updates will help.

Currently installing the security updates. 1GB in total so it will take a while. I will keep you updated once it finished installing

Those .NET installs take for ever so make sure its done before you give up, might want to turn off the AntiVirus crap during its install so its faster, if you have it. Then make sure to run the Windows updater again after a reboot to make sure the patches are all there, those take another super long time as well.

Well, I tried to install ALL the updates that were availible but I'm kinda afraid now to install any new since once I restarted my laptop to finish the updates it wouldn't start up again and it took me over 1.5 hours to fix it. So I really don't feel like going down that rabbit hole again. I'll give up for now and go play some other games but thanks guys for helping me!

it might have been finishing installing the updates on boot up. hope you let them finish. and you should go back to updates.

 

I would also uninstall and reinstall game afterwards.
