.....how do i search?

hey, this may sound like a stupid question but, how do i search the forum? 
what i mean by that is is there a search bar i can type keywords into to find related topics..
so far i dont see it and wasnt sure if i just cant spot it on screen somehow or if one just does not exist for this forums layout. 
still very new so getting used to it. 
 

the main reason i ask is because i wanted to quickly so some searches so i can save myself and everyone else the time of reading through another new post about something that may have been answered before (oh check out that mad forum etiquette yo)  
i did find the quick navigation button but that is not the same as a search bar. 

figure better to ask and know then not ask and feel like a dumb ass 

also i hope to become a more active member of this and other forums. i used to be very active on a lot and then kinda drifted away (bad back problems prevent me from doing much anymore even using a pc.....how sad)

yeah for some reason they removed the search option......

Unfortunately for you it's removed & only way to do that now is to do a google search with the term

  ( site:linustechtips.com "place your search term here" ) on to google search  & go for it, gives you lik 98% more accurate result than forum search bar & the search bar was removed for giving unaccurate results.

There used to be a search bar, but it wasn't very good.

I still think the best way to search for something on the forums is to type it into google along with    site:linustechtips.com

example: https://www.google.co.uk/#q=how+do+i+search+site:linustechtips.com

I heard they were having problems with the search and it has been deactivated because of that.

you can also use Ctnl F and such in the thread that the item your looking for might be in

hey everyone! thanks for the scarily quick replies haha  

i do know about using google to index a site but it never really works the best 

as for CTRL+F that is good for searching within a thread but i mean within a forum for a specific topic across pages. CTRL+F only does the current page.

will try google and see if it does a good job indexing this forum
