bf3 not working

I don't know what's wrong, whenever I try to log into a server, I get this message:

 

ERROR

Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'teddymyers' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe

I think EA shut down the servers I might be wrong

Hmm I got a similar issue waaay back. I never resolved it. I have Vista so thats the reason.

Anyways, look at some forums (there are a lot of them) or open a ticket at punkbuster.com

Re-install punkbuster and update it manually.

If the things above me don't work, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3\__Installer\punkbuster\redist and run pbsvc.exe
