They both are pretty crap, cause they're both Ubisoft titles.

As much as it's painful to use the F-word, AMD CPUs are more "futureproof" for future AAA titles, however the big thing with i3 is that later on when i3 is no longer enough you can take it out and put in an i5/i7 in the same motherboard. With AMD if you want to upgrade later on you will have to change both CPU and motherboard.

Not to mention some other Intel benefits such as less heat (stock cooler works perfectly fine with locked i3/i5, saving you money on a cooler) and less power consumption.

Inb4 overclock a FX chip on a stock cooler and ya get this http://youtu.be/XLw2ojFR8V8

Lol buddy stop baseing shit off whats better for him. He just asked if it was a good processor. He also never replied so you won't know what his intention is. Will he be doing light gaming? Did he give a budget? What games is he running?

I never acted like I knew his intentions or what budget he had or anything of that matter.

That's why I said don't say intel just like that.

He (and you too) should keep your options open and be open minded.

Get what's best for you and don't go with whatever brand you like because you simply like it but because it's what you need and probably the best for what you're going to do.

All you said was get an i3 or i5 pls.

You never took in account of what games or anything he would be doing with his computer.

So I don't say why you use this example to attack me.

Or attack me at all.

I have apologized once since you seem to be upset, if you still want to fight. I can't help you.

But I won't contribute much for this.

"i3 or i5 pls. "

Kaytee didn't say anything about them being better value for gaming.

He/she said only this I have the quotation marks.

Which implies he/she that Op should go with these intel alternatives not considering what he's going to do with his computer or anything. All he said was Intel over Amd.

Which is wrong, go with what fits you best.

well for gaming its not wrong,i3/i5 are better . an i3 is hyperthreaded so dont talk about it like it would be a pentium

and amd cpus are not becoming stronger lol. look at the fx 8150 vs i5 2500k today. you can preety much throw the fx in the trash

Perhaps not stronger but more being able to use their full power.

Didn't even know a 8150 existed.

The 8150 and i5s are not in the same price bracket and for simply gaming, yes the i5s will always or almost always win.

But the fx line up is till useful, since they can in every single game.

Perhaps I do need to make more research on the intel cpus or i3s specifcally.

Shouldn't be overclocking an FX chip on mobo with only 4-pin CPU power connector and no VRM heatsinks anyways

I've seen many posts on /r/buildapc where they overclock fx8350s on gigabyte and asrock boards with either minimal or no vrms. Some of them just see it like a sort of decoration :D

Gigabyte boards are okay as their AM3+ boards actually use good VRM components. Asrock.... meh

Why are you assuming any of these variables matter. They all have the same outcome/answer. Hence the reason why his answer was so short.

I3's and i5's are not always the better choice.

There is more than a single variable as to what cpu/gear to get for your optimal system at your price point.

Im not upset at all, it's just that even though this is a forum to help people on tech related stuff, you come help but he doesn't do his part on inputting what he really needs. Why did I just say "i3 or i5 pls"? Same deal as to what he posted, he gave us nothing to work with except let other people discuss it and have us question what he actually needs and what would be better good.

You're not upset at all but still you attack me?

In the case you seem to be of-ly aggressive.

I did do my part and give my input.

Have you even read my comments?

I said that it depends on the game and gave some examples as to where it would not be as good compared to other games.

If you think that is a bad answer then go give him a better answer there's nothing stopping you.

My job is to give the best and (friendly) answer I can. Which I did.

My job is not to give the best possible answer in the world. Or please those who disagree.

If I am misleading or giving wrong answer while thinking I am right, that is a different thing. But then you're free to correct me without attacking me.

Just pretty bothered at how people put their spare time into helping others, then they either read it and never come back.

Some people are like that.

Like you said; perhaps get some ice cream, and play some games or watch a movie.

Like we have covered (and argumented over), we need more information.

For example, your budget for the cpu, what games you will be playing and what else you will be doing with your computer like for example rendering or any special cpu intensive work.

hhha my budget is 400$ for cpu  ram and mobo .

my best budged cpu i fund is the fx -8320 amd

and im playing bf4 , minecraft ,lol, bf3 ,cod ,watch dogs., im upgreading my pc for future games like GTA V!!!!!!!!

Any preference in intel or amd?

Here you could get either i3 from intel side or 6300-8320 from amd side.

I3 will be better at games like LoL, CoD (idk about the rest).

The amd side will be better at bf4 and bf3 I think but I am not sure about how much.

Im not going to do a lot of rendering it is going to be a gaming ring sometime its is going to record nothing special:

You have 42,31 dollars left, but I suppose switching it for 8320 is about the same as you were going for.

Gonna do one for the intel side too and you can make your choice about these builds if you like them or not after that.
