I am new to displayport and I learnt that if I turn it off, the gpu thinks the monitor is disconnected and windows adjusts to the remaining monitors. Any way to overcome this?

Sorry for the tangent, but the main problem is that the monitor gets a black screen around 3-5 times a day randomly. I don't think the signal cuts out since the monitor doesn't try to look for another source or say no input ,It's just a black screen for about 1-2 seconds (which is a long time if I'm in a competitive game) and then it comes back just like that. It is very annoying and it happens every other day it seems (not routine, just giving an idea of the frequency).

I did not find much after googling other than something about electric interference. My cable is pretty thick, so I assume it is well insulated, I moved it around in different positions anyways, yet I still have the issue.
