Not sure if this is the right place but anyway:

As I'm using my computer, the amount of memory being used slowly increases throughout the session. I have 24GB DDR3 at 1600MHz (2 x 8GB + 2 x 4GB). There's no way I can be using 20GB whilst just surfing the web (on one or 2 tabs max) and talking to my friends on Skype. I just built this computer yesterday so maybe there's a problem there but I dunno because whenever I look in task manager or resource monitor, nothing is using a lot of memory. Just while typing this the memory usage has gone up 2% from 79% to 81%. I'm using Windows 8.1 64-bit.

How would I go about finding which programs are causing the leaks and fixing them?

By finding the programs that are using absurd amounts of memory? I have no clue if you can even help memory leaks, but making sure that everything is up-to-date may help.

Sig under construction.

How are you managing to get that much RAM usage? I have the same RAM configuration as you and find myself struggling to use more than 7GB.

That's exactly my point.

But like I said, nothing is using a large amount of ram.
