Hello,

I read a lot of reviews about this new monitor Asus released and i need to know something to fill my empty knowledges about this before buying.

1st: If i change the resolution to 1080p it will look way blury than other 1080p 27' monitor like XL2720T from Benq ? I know it has to scale the resolution for the 27' inch, but there are a lot of 1080p 27' on the market wich looks pretty decent if you sit not to close.

2nd: 144hz and g-sync will work well if i change the resolution to 1080p ? I read a review 1 month ago (i dont remember where) where the editor said that on 1080p, this monitor wont perform on full 144hz.

3rd: 120hz for example, will let me use g-sync ? Or i just need to have 144hz or 60hz to run g-sync correctly ?

I ask you all this because i want to build a pc and if 1080p will run perfectly, then i can save some money from gtx980 sli and buy gtx970 sli instead.

Thank you from now for your answers and see you on other area with other questions.

English is not my main and i was to lazy and stupid to learn better, so you might have problems understanding.

Happy new years guys,

Happy new years guys,

!. Why would you get a 1440p monitor to do 1080p. Just save the money and get a 24" Asus VG248qe 1080p 1 ms and 144Hz. It does not look blurry as I have tried this with games but it only supports 60Hz.

2. Correct the monitor will not support 144Hz at 1080p. I can confirm this. G-Sync will work.

3. G-sync will work

If your wanting to play 1080p on 1440p then do what I suggested. If you really want g-sync then get a 24" 1080p monitor that supports g-sync.

Thank you for the fast answere.

I can buy an Asus VG248QE, but the problem is g-sync module wich i cant find it in my country and if i purchase from big markets, monitor + g-sync module will be just 100$ less than PG278Q. Benq will have that 144hz g-sync monitor, but when it will be available for me, it will have a huge price.

Damn, then this monitor is not a good alternative for competitive players wich use lower resolutions like 1280x.

The last time i used this resolution i had 1080p on 21 inch, now on 24 it wont have big pixels ? 1440p is perfect for browsing and other things. For gaming to, but you need good graphics card to handle 144fps on that resolution. gtx980 sli wont have 144fps on 1440p so this is a problem.

This was something that i didn't expected, 1080p with only 60hz on this monitor.  :o  :o

Yeah the g-sync was only a do it yourself kit and they no longer sell it. 24" is the best for 1080p and 27" for 1440p. Dual gtx 980s can handle 144fps and even more if you overclock them. In most games at max they can achieve this. Also you can lower some of the settings and still get 144fps. Linus did a video on dual 980s sli. I suggest you watch that and he post benchmarks. What games are you playing? It clearly states on the manual that 1080p at 60Hz.

Ok i watched the video and yes, they perform very good on 1440p.

I want to play: battlefield 4, cs global offensive, watch dogs, far cry 4, new games.

Then Asus did a step back with this monitor for competitive games, since you can enjoy 144hz only on that high resolution. To bad i can't see this monitor in a showroom to see how it looks.

Probably is better to wait for that benq hybrid g-sync monitor to see the price for it.

But AOC g2460Pg is okey?

I don't know about the AOC monitor but I heard good things about that company. Battlefield 4 with 980s sli will run at 118fps/ max 179fps and min 92fps. CS:go would be over 144fps for sure. Watch dogs is poorly optimized but Im pretty sure you will have over 60fps. Far cry 4 is poorly optimized as well. Your fine with 2 980s sli and if you overclock them you could potentially see a 15% increase.

I would like to say that sli gtx 970 will run a 1440p moniter no problem. You'll get over 100fps in most of those games, i would imagine. You would not have to lower the resolution with the switch from 980's to 970's

Do the research, If you want the Asus rog swift and can justify the price, get it!

I have the swift and am powering it with an oc'd 780ti and while I can't max out games at ultra and 1440p I still get all the benefits of G-sync running games around the 110fps mark. It's an awesome monitor and dual 970s will be fine running it at 1440p.

If you do get the monitor it might out live the sli 970s and then you will be using even more powerful gpus, that was one of the reasons I got mine as i knew I was going to upgrade my gpu long before the monitor died. Of course I can only get nvidea gpus while I have it but I'm ok with that.
