so i just installed my new GPU and before i get into overclocking i wanted to run some benchmarks. i started with Unigine Heaven. this is with V-Sync off

Unigine_Heaven_Benchmark_4.0_20141231_1323.html

so apparently the benchmark with VSync didnt save but the score was 839 Min fps was 20.5 and max was 60.1

EDIT: Lol im so tired i forgot to actually ask a question, i know what V-Sync does but i dont understand the diff in scores

VSync locks the framerate to the refresh rate of your monitor (Usually 60, 120 or 144Hz) meaning that the amount of fps never exceeds what the monitor can output to prevent screen tearing. This introduces more input lag though which is the downside

so V-Sync=bad benchmarks

Not necessarily but in this case you are limiting max fps and therefore reducing your score. Bench without Vsync to get your "true" score.

Also something is not right in your PC because I get 2650-2750 score in valley with a 970

If you are new to overclocking watch some video on it like this one made by linus and austin evans

and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA_l5-HDel4. Also not all gpu can get the same clock and memory speed so don't take someone clock speed and just applied it to your card be patience and careful it take quite a bit of time to make sure everything is stable.

What if you have a 144hz monitor but dont have a powerful enough pc to get those 144fps?

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

Use this as a starting point, I have 1550/7800 at +18mV

so what i tried doing was pushing the mem clock and core clock until valley wouldnt run and at a certain point i got an error message saying that the driver couuldnt load an OpenGL artifact (without touching the core voltage) and then when i added 10 mv i got a worse score in valley :/

Then the OC is not beneficial, it happens, did 1500.7800 work though?

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861
