Will 600w be enough to power a sapphire r9 280x tri-x and an i5 4460

Yes it is enough. If you're not sure, just put your stuff into https://de.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ and at the top right corner you can see the estimated wattage.

500w would be enough, 600w is comfortable.
