Heya,

From the sounds of your approx dimensions. They fit into the category of the Micro ATX board. Which the case does support M-atx boards.

Make sure you keep hold of the I/O shield when you migrate to the new case and all should be good  ^_^

it looks like m-atx.

the design core 1000 accepts m-itx and m-atx motherboards,so it should fit.

hmm if the I/O is part of the case and not part of the motherboard. You could either try (carefully) cutting it out of the old case then stick it on the new case. If you can remember the model name of the motherboard, I could try and have a look, but the chance of finding an I/O shield that matches that particular motherboard could be slim

No problem  ^_^ Usually Pre-built machines use generic motherboards which normally you can't buy aftermarket.

It will still work without the I/O shield. Essentially all it does is cover the area around the ports and inputs at the back of the case... more aesthetics and a little protection. It will look ugly without it, but if it doesn't bother ya then it's ok  :D

Wow that is kinda ugly lol, well atlest it will work with out the I/O shiled, If i could get an I/O shield that gose to that then it would only cover up two of my Usbs which i would be ok with

lol, yup  you can save up for an upgrade of a motherboard and new CPU . At least then, you'll get a new I/O shield with the new motherboard and it'll look good  ^_^

Yer i think getting a new motherboard will be my best bet, might as well look at a new CPU also, I currently have a Core I3 540 @3.07GHz LGA1156, so kinda old i asume. Will just have to save up and treat my self to some new stuff :D

ooh socket 1156. Oh, the prices for motherboards on that socket are a little pricey now. You might have to go for a new socket, either 1155 (intel ivy bridge CPUs) or 1150 (new haswell CPUs). the 1155 would be cheaper coz they are last generation and the i5 3570K CPU would be a great upgrade to go for  ^_^

For curiosity have a look at 1150 motherboards and intel 1150 CPUs to see what prices they are, then you can decide which path you wanna go for
