Posted December 29, 2014 Hi guys, I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the fans on my GPU. I use a gigabyte GTX 760 and the fans are running on 900rpm minimum. MSI Afterburner won't turn off the fans and neither the Gigabyte oc guru. So what should I do?
 Posted December 29, 2014 you should be able to set a custom fan profile on MSI Afterburner. set it at 1% untill X temp. Sets to 1% until 200C to turn off the fans, creates a "Why did my GPU go kaboom?" thread.
 Well my GPU is running at around 33 degrees C on the desktop which is good and in games it doesn't always reach 55 or 50 degrees C but when my computer is on only with a torrent download running is when it is really anoying. SO AFTERBURNER DOSEN'T WORK
Posted December 29, 2014 You need to hit that little button "Auto" else its set to manual. SO AFTERBURNER DOES WORK! Also for the love of god dont set a fan profile like that else say bye bye to your card. It is set just to see if MSI Afterburner turns off the fan or not. But still even when the auto is checked MSI afterburner won't tur off the fan. Nothing you can do really. i know some cards have a silent mode built in but unless you want to return that for one of those then you are stuck with it. I would return it but I don't think that they woud take it back just because I want a different model. I have also contacted gigabyte 2 days ago but they don't give the fastest response
 Also, gigabyte responded and the 20% is the limit of the fans, so it will not go lower. So the answer there is the same as here - NO. Only if there would be a way to "hack" it, other than plugging it in a fan controller.
