AHCI BIOS not Installed?

It's fixed guys. I told him to disconnect the PC from the wall for 15 mins or something and it seems to have fixed the issue. The PC is now booting just fine.

So my friend called me today and he's all like "hey man it says my bios is not installed". I immediately thought he was playing a prank on me, cause I have never seen or heard of this message, but he's serious. Do you have any ideas as to why this could happen out of the blue?

MacBook Pro 15' 2018 (Pretty much the only system I use)

It's the title. He told me it just says: "AHCI BIOS NOT INSTALLED"

Does the system still POST?

It might just mean that the CMOS Battery isn't there/isn't working, but I'm now seriously doubting that thought.

What's weird is that AHCI isn't a BIOS. It's a mode.

What's weird is that AHCI isn't a BIOS. It's a mode.

It could be AHCI: BIOS not installed, but he didn't say anything about a colon...

Did he change any settings in the BIOS? As far as I'm concerned, he changed the mode used for drives from IDE to AHCI.
