That should be fine to run both games at max settings, I will let you know that Skyrim is more CPU intensive, so if you are looking to mod, it may not handle it that well.

do you mean that i would download some mods for skyrim? :D

Doesn't everybody?  I had no trouble running 30 or so mods on Skyrim with a fx6300 and crossfired 270x's but your results may vary since it is a lower end CPU.

270x's are still a really good option for 1080p gaming.

going to buy a new mobo then when upgrading my processor :D i think that every board has good vrm cooling nowadays?

If you are going to upgrade to a 8xxx series I would suggst looking to intel for future proofness unless you get a good deal. The 8320/8350 have gone back up in price, which now a 4460 and mobo would be in that $220 price range.

R9 270X should be fine, I don't think your CPU would bottleneck it. It's also still a great card as many others have said.

I've got a sort of off topic question for you: I'm running two MSI Gaming R9 270X in Crossfire but I seem to be getting crazy artifacts in Skyrim and my character behaves as if he's swimming all the time while walking. It will randomly glitch with a bird's eye view and show him performing wading actions when he's walking. Any idea how to fix it? I've tried disabling AA and VSync etc it didn't help. What settings do you run?

That sounds like either there is conflicting mods added, and it is glitching out, or one of your GPUs are defective. I would suggest running each individually and see if there is any issues with a specific one.

Thanks for the reply!

I tried that before when I first noticed it, both the GPUs individually run it perfectly.

They also run all other games fine, with minimal artifacts (some black lines here and there momentarily but it goes away if you uncheck and check vsync or any other option).

I also don't have any mods currently installed :/ So it's not mods for sure.
