How to convert external HDD from NTFS to fat32

I have a external HDD i wanna connect to my ps3 , but i need to convert it from NTFS to FAT32 to do that.

 

Can anyone help me do that , i´ve tried different programs and been searching a bit on forums , but havent been able to do it yet.

Plug it into your PC → Open This PC (or Computer) → Right click the drive and click ´Format´ → Chose to format it as FAT32.

Of course this will delete everything on the drive.

 

Edit: Hmm, I can't seem to get this to work on my external HDD. It only want to format as NTFS and exFAT.

 

You can alwasys try the CMD mothode as metioned below ↓

I would however recommend writting ´Diskpart´ and then ´list disk´ before formatting. That way you can be sure you are formatting the right drive.

Open a cmd and type

format /FS:FAT32 X:

 

While X represents the drivename.

When i try that cmd replies "Acces Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You ghave to invoke this utility running in elevated mode.

Go to Settings Systemtools and open the cmd with admin privileges.

Worked ^^ .

now it asks for a volume label tho ? . what is that ?

This is the name as it will show up later. You can use something obvious like External. No special characters as *+~# work here.
