Won't post

EHz

Just got home from a 2 week vacation. I turned on my computer but it will not post (the monitor isn't receiving any input). The fans also sound like they are running on max. Help!

Attempt to reset the BIOS. Remove the CMOS battery for about 10 seconds and re-insert it and attempt to turn it on again.

The fan problem is now fixed, but the monitor isn't receiving any signal. I've all ready tried with and without the graphics card.

Also, I've already verified that the monitor works by hooking it up to my laptop.

Sounds like it could be a memory issue. Take everything out of your casing and set it up on a table or work area. This should make it easier for you to diagnose the exact problem.

just tried switching both the ram and the power supply. It appears the motherboard is indeed at fault.
